How to Help at Home

* Read to your child.

* Listen to your child read.

* Practice Jolly Phonics sounds with your child as they learn them in class.

* Help your child learn his/her address and phone number.

* Show your child the location of your home on a map.

* Play games with your child.

* Help your child find his/her interests.

* Help your child get a library card.

* Look through your child’s schoolwork with him/her. Let your child tell you about his/her work. Keep the work they are most proud of and make a scrapbook.

* Look through your child’s take home folder every night and see if there is work to be done.

* Write notes to your child.

* Play a board game with your child.

* Help your child start a collection of rocks, stamps, pressed leaves…
