February 2017 – Announcement

As you know, parent/teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, February 23 after school and in the evening as well as Friday, February 24 in the morning.  At this time your child will have an opportunity to demonstrate what he/she has been learning in music class.  This opportunity is only available for Mrs. Manchester’s music classes.  You are invited to come to the music room with your child at any time during conference hours so that he/she can perform one of the following pieces for you –

Kindergarten   “Yankee Doodle” steady beat played on percussion

Grade 1       “Rice Planting Song” rhythm pattern played on percussion

Grade 2       “John the Rabbit” performed on the autoharp

Grade 3       “Sunshine/Moonlight” played on the autoharp

Grade 4       “Sing Me Another” performed on the autoharp

Grade 5       “Winds and String” in two parts – recorder and autoharp

I will also be available to answer any questions you may have about your child’s progress in particular or the music curriculum in general.  As always, if you have any questions please contact me.
